यो ३०-४० फिट अग्लो रूख, हरियो गोलो फल, पात मसिना हुन्छन् । षरसमध्ये लवण तत्त्व नभएको पञ्चरसा अमला भनिन्छ । माघमा टिपेको जगली अमला शीतवीर्य अवस्थास्थापक अर्थात् जीवनीयतत्त्वको बद्धि र रक्षा गर्ने परमदिव्य औषधि हो। अमला रुचिकर, रक्तशोधक, मूत्रल, आँखाको दृष्टि तेज सर्ने, वीर्यलाई गाढा र आयु बढाउने सर्वोत्कृष्ट फल हो । अमला कमलपित्त, अम्लपित्त, रक्तपित्त, वातरक्त, अर्श, बद्धकोष्ठ, अजीर्ण, अरुचि, सुक्खा खोकी, श्वास रोग इत्यादि नष्ट गर्ने शक्तिशाली उपचारक फल अमृत हो। मनुष्यको रक्तमा एकत्रित भएको विजातीय विषादि तत्त्वहरूको नष्ट गर्ने अमला रसायन संसारको पुनर्जीवन दिने पूज्य चीजलाई मातासमान भनिन्छ। स्मरणशक्ति, तन्दुरुस्त नवयौवन, कान्ति, तेज बलवीर्यलाई पुष्ट गर्ने, सर्वगुणहरूले सम्पन्न अनुकूल प्रभाव बनाइराख्ने लाभैलाभ भएको अमूल्यप्रधान औषधि अमलासिवाय केही छैन । अमलापत्र पानीमा उमालेर पिएमा मुखको घाउ फोका-फोकी भएको र जिब्रो चिरिएको सब ठीक गर्छ । अमला बीजलाई पकाएर आँखा धोयो, पानी छ्याप्यो भने दुखेको, पोलेको, पानी बगेको आँखा आराम हुन्छ । धातुरोगमा धेरै अमला चुस्ने वा चूर्ण प्रशस्त खानुपर्दछ । साउन-भदौमा टिपेको अमला ताजा खाँदा स्थान्सरमा लाभ पुऱ्याउँछ, आँखामा चमक ल्याउँछ, सुक्खा दममा फाइदा दिन्छ । परिपक्व नभएर राम्रोसँग नपाकेको ज्यादै टरों अमला चूर्णमा अमला स्वरसको २१ भावना (रस डुबाउने) दिएर सुकाई पानीसँग ५-७ ग्राम दिनको २-३ पटक खानुभएमा बलवीर्य पुष्टिन्छ र पित्तशान्ति हुन्छ, साथै पेटका घाउहरूलाई सन्चो पार्छ । घृत अमला बनाउने तरिका : अमला स्वरसलाई घृतमा सयगुणा पकाएर सुकाउने, जब घ्यूमात्र शेष रहन्छ, तब समभाग शुद्ध मधु वा मह नपाएमा मिश्रीचूर्ण मिसाई नित्य सेवन गर्न सक्यो भने निरोगी भएर एकसय वर्ष जिउँदछ । स्त्री सहवास गर्ने शक्ति बढ्छ र सन्तान बहुत दृढ र बलिया हुन्छन् । गनोरिया (भृङ्गी) रोगमा अमलाचूर्ण १ चम्चा प्रत्येक ३ घण्टामा नित्य ५ पटक खाने र मुत्रेन्द्रियमा अमलापानीको पिचकारी दिनको ३ पटक गर्ने अति फाइदा भई घाउ भरिन्छ । चट्नी, अचार, चूर्ण, चुस्ने, काँढापानी, अमलापान अनेक तरहले प्रयोग बढाउनुहोस् । पृथ्वीको अमृतलाई औषधिमात्र भनेर हेला नगर्नुहोस् । चिसो रुघा-खोकी, कफग्रस्त खोकी, दम आदिमा सिन्धेनुन र कत्था २+२ ग्राम र अमला ७ ग्राम राखी मनतातो पानीसंग दिनमा ३-५ पटक प्रयोग गरौं । जङ्गलमा मङ्गल अमलाले स्वागत गरौं । भिराला पखेरामा अमलाको खेती र सम्भव भएसम्म फाल्गुनमा सङ्कलन गर्दै चैतमा चौगुणा मूल्य बढाएर बेचौं । धेरै फलाउँदा वैद्य, डाक्टरले धन्यवाद र समस्यामा ग्रसित रोगीले आशीर्वाद दिनेछन् । यस्तो कल्याणकारी काम शुद्ध पेसाले स्वयम्लाई सेवा गर्दछ र दुनियाँमा सबैको भलो हुनेछ । यसैगरी अमला मह रसायनः अमला चूर्ण १ कि.ग्रा., मह डेढ कि.ग्रा., काठको या कांचको भाँडामा १५ दिन सूर्यपाक गरी प्रयोग बढाउनुस् धेरै स्वादिलो तृप्तिकारक पाचक रस बनाइदिनेछ । यो समस्त रक्तविकार र चर्मरोगमा अचुक औषधि मानिन्छ । मात्रा : ५-७ ग्राम ३-५ पटक ।
