तुलसी एक सुगन्धित वनस्पति हो जुन ५० देखि ६० से.मी. सम्म अग्लो हुन्छ। यो एकवर्षीय झारको

मिटरको उचाईमा खेती गरिन्छ। यसले
हाम्रो वातावरणमा राम्रोसँग बाँच्न सक्ने क्षमता राख्छ, जसले गर्दा यो
हाम्रै बगैचामा सजिलै फुल्न सक्छ।

रोगहरूको उपचारमा प्रयोग गरिन्छ। यसले निम्नलिखित फाइदाहरू
प्रदान गर्दछ:
1. सामान्य चिसो र खोकी:
तुलसीको पात चिसो र
खोकीको लागि राम्ररी काम
गर्छ। यसको चिया बनाउनाले
रुघा निको गर्न मद्दत
पुर्याउँछ।
2. ज्वरो र अस्थमा: यदि
तपाईंलाई ज्वरो छ भने, तुलसीका
पातले तपाईंलाई सजिलो महसुस गराउँछ। यसले अस्थमा र
अन्य श्वासप्रश्वासका समस्याहरूमा पनि मद्दत पुर्याउँछ।
3. पाचन सुधार: तुलसीले
पाचन प्रक्रियालाई सक्रिय बनाउँछ। यसको सेवनले पेट
सफा राख्न मद्दत गर्छ र पाचन
क्रियालाई सुधार्छ।
4. रक्तमा चिनीको स्तर घटाउन: यदि
तपाईंको रक्तमा चिनीको स्तर उच्च छ
भने, तुलसीले यसलाई घटाउन मद्दत पुर्याउँछ।
5. छाला सम्बन्धी समस्याहरू:
तुलसी छालामा दादको समस्या ठीक गर्नको लागि
प्रयोग गरिन्छ।
6. धार्मिक महत्त्व: हिन्दू धर्ममा तुलसीको ठूलो महत्व छ।
यसलाई पूजामा प्रयोग गर्ने गरिन्छ र यसले आध्यात्मिक
ऊर्जा पनि प्रदान गर्दछ।

बनाउन प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ। एक
कप ताजगी तुलसीको चिया बनाउनका लागि:
1. ताजा तुलसीका पातहरू
१०-१२ वटा लिई
चियापत्तीमा थप्नुहोस्।
2. यसलाई एक कप पानीमा
उमाल्न दिनुहोस्।
3. जब पानी उक्लन्छ,
त्यसपछि यसलाई चाँदाको रूपमा सर्भ गर्नुहोस्।
4. चिया तयार छ,
यसलाई मिठासको लागि चिनी पनि
थप्न सकिन्छ।
अर्को
तरिका भनेको तुलसीको पातबाट सुगन्धित तेल निकाल्नु हो।
यस तेललाई छालामा लगाउन वा अरोमाथेरापीमा प्रयोग
गर्न सकिन्छ।

Introduction:
Tulsi is an aromatic herb that grows to a height of about 50
to 60 cm. It falls under the category of annual herbs. Leaves are oppositely
placed. Leaves are 2.5 to 5 cm long and are oval in shape. They are serrated at
the edge and hairy on both surfaces. The adaxial surface of the leaf, which is
the upper surface of the leaf is green, whereas the abaxial surface shows
white-green. Flowers small, white or purplish, flowering in 5 to 16 cm long
clusters at the tips of branches.
Availability:
Tulsi grows all over Nepal between 400-1800 meters altitude.
As a climate and ecological condition tolerant plant, the species is found
flourishing almost in every garden.
Harvesting Time:
The collection time for Tulsi falls between October and
November.
Parts Used in Trade:
The main traded parts of this plant are leaves and stems.
The leafy stems are usually dried to light brown color and give out a strong
aroma when burned. The stems are quadrangular in shape, slightly hairy.
Cold and Cough: Leaves of Tulsi are extremely useful for the
treatment of cold and cough. One can make tea from these leaves in order to
cure the discomforts.
Fever and Asthma: These leaves cure fever. It is also good
for asthma and other breathing problems.
Digestive Aid: Tulsi activates the process of digestion,
thereby helping to clean up the stomach and thus resulting in good digestive
health.
Lowers Blood Sugar: Where there is a case of high sugar
content in the blood, Tulsi lowers the amount of sugars present in it.
Skin Conditions: It is applied very well in the treatment of
skin conditions of any kind, such as ringworm, and can be applied externally
for such an issue.
Religious Significance: The plant is considered to be very
holy in Hinduism. It is widely employed in different manners within various
rituals and is considered to provide spiritual energy.
How to Use:
The leaves and roots of Tulsi can be used to make tea. Here
is a refreshing way through which Tulsi tea can be made:
Take 10-12 fresh Tulsi leaves and add them to your tea
leaves.
Boil them in a cup of water.
When the water starts boiling, it should be strained in a
cup.
Your tea is ready, and you may add sugar to taste, if
desired.
The application of Tulsi can be obtained by extracting the
essential oil out of its leaves. It can be directly applied to the skin or even
used in aromatherapy.
